Gerardo Ostos Rincón Gallardo is a criminal defense lawyer with more than fifteen years of experience defending individuals and companies against the State, in economic crimes, account freezes by the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) and civil asset forfeiture, matters where the greatest risks to a person's liberty and assets converge.

He holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and specialist degrees in Criminal Law and in the Adversarial Criminal System, studies in Amparo Law from Universidad Panamericana, and a master's degree in Business Law, training that reflects a practice where criminal matters constantly intersect with corporate and financial decisions.

His practice centers on the oral trial, the stage he considers effective for obtaining an acquittal, and extends to strategic amparo (constitutional relief) and to negotiating complex matters with private parties and before the State.

He has secured the release of people arbitrarily deprived of their liberty, the release of frozen accounts and seized real estate, and the dismantling of fabricated accusations.

He is the author of «Responsabilidad de las empresas y sus integrantes por la adquisición y uso de comprobantes fiscales fraudulentos» (liability of companies and their members for acquiring and using fraudulent tax invoices), published by Tirant lo Blanch, and of the chapter «La suspensión contra medidas cautelares en el procesamiento penal» (the stay against precautionary measures in criminal proceedings) in the collective volume Oportunidades, Críticas y Propuestas al Sistema de Justicia Penal Mexicano. He writes for Revista Abogacía on adversarial litigation and due process.

In 2023 he founded Ostos Rincón Gallardo Abogados, a firm he leads with an active presence in every matter, practicing in Mexico City, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
